IN-BETWEEN PASSENGERS
Like many others, I spend most of my days behind a desk. The bus route takes me home and allows me to slowly disconnect from work. I observe the attitudes and faces of the other passengers travelling from their workplace to their home. The window panes open an intermediary space where the textures and people from the outside merge with the inside. In this space, I feel confortable staring at them straight in the eyes. I play the game of guessing who they are, what’s in their minds. Is she a dancer? And this man, is he as anxious as I think? And that Japanese woman: is it her first time in Paris? She looks surprised at all the things unfolding before her eyes. What is she thinking about us? — Paris, 2009
